Description

The heat transfer area in a gasketed plate heat exchanger consists of a series of corrugated plates, assembled between a frame plate and pressure plate to retain pressure. Gaskets act as seals between the plates. The hot and cold fluids typically run counter-currently through the heat exchanger. This results in highly efficient thermal performance and enables a very close temperature approach (the difference between the process fluid’s desired outlet temperature and the service fluid’s inlet temperature). Gasketed plate heat exchangers have applications in almost all industries and are available in a very wide range of sizes and materials.
